What is the work done in moving a test charge ‘q’ through a distance of 1 cm along the equatorial axis of an electric dipole?

What is the work done in moving a test charge ‘q’ through a distance of 1 cm along the equatorial axis of an electric dipole?

Ans: Work done = 0, because electric potential is zero on equatorial line of an electric dipole.

W_AB = q (V_B - V_A)
Since, V_B = V_A = 0        So,      W_AB = 0
